Owen Graduate School of Management

Dear alumni and friends,

The start of this academic year is highlighted with a palpable sense of momentum. Thanks to an inspiring, supportive community, we are taking important steps to build on the Owen experience and ensure that we continue to thrive by offering a world-class business education delivered on a personal scale. I’m inviting you to share in our goals by making a gift to Owen.

We continue to enroll talented students who benefit from consistently strong career placement success—81 percent of job seeking graduates of the class of 2017 received a job offer by graduation with an average base salary of $115,836. We remain committed to preparing global business leaders by increasing our diversity of people and thought through on-campus and global immersion programs.

Thanks to generous support from Owen’s philanthropic community, we are renovating the library, replete with new technology, 17 study and conference rooms and a fireplace—named for Chief Recruiting Officer Tami Fassinger—that will serve as the perfect setting to host talks with executives and alumni.

We are also better able to support innovative student entrepreneurs through the Center for Entrepreneurship. One example: James Murray, MBA’17, created NewsCart, a media intelligence platform that allows users to quickly find and share relevant content from company newsletters. Murray developed NewsCart through his work in Owen entrepreneurship classes, working with professors like Michael Burcham and Germain Böer, who mentored him and made introductions to key business professionals in the Nashville community. He received the Sohr Grant, which supports budding young entrepreneurs, and he also won the PitchTexas competition at the 2017 South by Southwest (SXSW) Conference.

Please show your support for our students, faculty and programs by making a gift today

Thank you for your commitment to Owen. Your dedication to our mission and our students reflects our enduring values—you are Vanderbilt. We have an outstanding community, and I look forward to partnering with you for continued success.

Best regards,
